Maybelline Color Drama Velvet Lip Pencils

I have been absolutely obsessed with these little guys recently. I have mentioned the Fab Orange shade in my budget purchases post but I feel so strongly about these products, I just had to put them in the limelight once more.

I have always been a huge fan of a red lip but, just like any other trend I take up, I started lusting for change. 'Wear something different!' I thought. As I'd got along so well with the other color drama lipsticks, I thought I'd try out the 'Nude Perfection' shade and it's turned out to, honestly, be my favourite lip product of all time.. I even raved about it on my Instagram.

The look of the Nude shade is that of a matt consistency but feels smooth on the lips without being sticky- and I love that. Super moisturising! I've even had compliments from my boyfriend who doesn't really appreciate how much effort is spent on my makeup. He seems to think I look the same whether I change up colours, shades.. heck, I could probably smear my whole face in red and the most I would get out of him would be 'have you done something different?' so for him to make comments about my lips being plump etc, it's a big deal!

If I'm completely honest, I've never really taken to nude lip products before. Not because I don't like them or they don't suit me, I've just never been one for heavy eye makeup. A little winged eyeliner and maybe some sparkly eyeshadow, (obviously mascara, too) and I'm good to go. My lips are what I like to extenuate and dark lips have always done that for me. I don't think I've given nude's a fair chance  in the past and I am definitely going to be on the lookout for more now so if you have any recommendations please leave them in the comments.

Have you used the Color Drama Lip Pencils? You can purchase 'Nude Perfection' here for only £4.99!

  1. I've never tried a nude lip before. I just don't understand them, for whatever reason! This, despite the fact that I know so many people who look great with a nude lip. Maybe I'll give it a go this year ;) If I do, I'll definitely consider these lip pencils, Maybelline makes great products!

  3. I think nudes are such a safe option so I have to say I am surprised that you haven't tried many before. But they do look very nice with a smoky eye if I do say so myself. I will have to check out your instagram to see your other opinions on this product.

    1. I've used a couple of different brands in the past but I wasn't overwhelmed by any of them so I think I just kind of stopped picking them up when I would shop around. This was a game changer though, definitely! Do you have any suggestions?

  4. The nude shade is really tempting. I don't put a ton of makeup on so that's definitely the kind of thing I like.

    1. I'm sure you'll adore them as much as I do. If you pair the Nude Perfection shade with a nice contour they really compliment each other. I also like to wear a shimmery gold eyeshadow. Let me know if you do purchase any!
